Carroll – KB5TCH (SK)- PERMANENT HONORARY NET CONTROL
Carroll was the longest serving net controls in our history.
Sadly, Carroll became a silent key on August 6, 2018. Click Memorial

Sandor – KG4FET

Sandor, a Ham since 1999, called his first net, a weekly simplex net the second week he was licensed and never looked back. He has been an NCS for many different nets, including Statewide ARES HF nets, W4SNN and the WWD net, as well as EMCOM nets on VHF and HF. He has been active in the SKYWARN program, ARES, and was previously the Program Director in the JR. ARES Program. Sandor is currently the AEC for the Kaufman County ARES group. Sandor can also be heard each Sunday as the Net Control for SOUTHCARS on 7251khz. Sandor is known to be one of our most relaxed, calmest, quietest, none opinionated net controls. (Or is he?)

 Charlie – KA5ETX

Charlie (KA5ETX) Brown at one of the operating positions at the ARRL Maxim Station in CT. Great visit and learned a lot but did NOT get to operate as staff was closing down. Still, it was neat to see and sit at the huge array of equipment.
73s all.

Craig – WB5KUO – NET MANAGER

Craig has been an electronics hobbyist since age 7 when he built a Heathkit transistor radio and a ham since age 13 when he was granted WN5KUO. He became WB5KUO with a General Class about a year later. He currently holds an Extra Class, is a VE for ARRL and W5YI, and GROL with Radar Endorsement. Professionally, he is the Product Design Lead for an avionics company and is listed as inventor on 11 US patents. Much of his equipment is homebrew SDR and can be operated remotely by laptop, tablet or smartphone.

DAVE – NA5CW

Dave has been around amateur radio his entire life. He became a ham around 1974-1975 at the age of 13 as WN5NWZ, running CW on a homebrew crystal controlled 40 meter transmitter and a BC-453 receiver. Dave says that he is probably a 99% CW operator using a variety of straight keys, vibroplex bugs, and iambic paddles.

Joye -N0OCP

Licensed since March 1991. Extra Class since 2005 Became familiar with amateur radio as early as 1971 while working MARS in military. Retired Air Force (23+ years) and Retired Emergency Management Director (nearly 17 years) for Springfield MO and Greene County MO. Was Friday morning Net Control on the TTN from September 2016 until early 2019. Moved to Bolivar MO December 2013 after living in Springfield and Fair Grove MO for nearly 24 years.

Francis -WB5LWP

Francis obtained his first license in 1974. He enjoys the variety of amateur radio activities. He began with DXing, expanded his interests into traffic handling and emergency communications (ARES, SKYWARN, MARS), and later became interested in the digital modes.

Roger, W5RWP (Former KD5OTH), was your Net Manager for 10 years, 2008-2018. Roger has been an amateur radio operator since 2001 and has held a general class ticket since 2003, having been doing nets for almost as long as he has been a ham. Roger has been a net control on this net as well as other nets since about 2005. This net is most appreciative for Roger’s service to us. Roger is a member of ARRL and ARES.

Randy, K5RWL, Ex-KE5YLY, has been a Ham Radio Operator since 2008 and became a General Class in 2009. His background is from Emergency Management and Response in Private, Municipal and Industrial sectors. After retirement, Randy’s Amateur Radio interest has revolved around ARES, RACES, MARS, Sky Warn and NTS. Randy has been net control on several NTS and MARS nets, as well as local 2-meter nets.

KC4LRR, RJ, (Robert Jansen) lives in Franklin, TN. He first checked into the Texas Traffic Net on May 3, 2016. He got started in radio as a SWLer after building an Allied Star Roamer when he was a kid. He was a Radioman in the US Navy 1972-1976.  RJ obtained his Novice ticket in 1989, Technician and General in 1990 and Amateur Extra in 2020. He enjoys DX and SOTA/POTA chasing, SSB, RTTY, Portable Ops, building wire antennas, kit building and helping new hams. Now retired he lives with his wife Cindy (KN4KTF), the mutt dogs Jake and Elwood, and two cats.
